NCCS Prom 2008

The prom will be held on May 10, 2008 in the Gold Room at Peck's Rainbow and Banquet Hall in Altona, NY.  The evening will begin at 5:30 PM with a procession of prom attendees and the announcement and crowning of the court.  A full-course dinner will be served at 7:00 PM, followed by an evening of dancing.

Randy Bosley of Sound Obsession will provide music; Tom Semeraro of Semeraro Photography will be available for portraits.

Dance Lessons:  Ballroom dancing lessons will be available to all interested promgoers.  You will learn the foxtrot, waltz, swing, and, depending on interest, some of the Latin dances (tango, rhumba, salsa).  Lessons will begin in February 2008.  We invite all promgoers to attend.  Last year's partipants are also asked to come and assist the newcomers!
Prom Committee News

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 11th from 7:50-8:20 AM, and during 5th period lunch.  You only need to attend one meeting.  We will discuss the Enchanted Forest theme, review the decorating options, and vote.

Decorations:  The already gorgeous Gold room will become positively magical by adding trees festooned with lights, walls of lights, floating candles, balloons, flowers, a real water fountain (in addition to the waterfall), and jewel-colored chair cover bows.  We will take extra care to make the entranceway, and picture area next to the waterfall, look especially elegant.   And ladies, the "powder room" will also be made more welcoming with lotion, flowers, and candies.

As an option, we can add a chocolate fountain.  This comes with one large, and one smaller fountain, two attendants, and strawberries, cherries, pineapple, marshmallows, pretzels, and Oreos for dipping.

We will be voting on all of this at the next Prom meeting.

Dinner:  A choice of prime rib or baked stuffed chicken, potato, vegetable, salad, brownie sundae dessert.

Beverages:  Milk or soda with meal; each Junior will also be given a ticket for one free specialty drink.

Invitations:  Will be given to each Junior.  The design of the invitation needs to be discussed and voted on.

Tickets:  Will be priced to cover the cost of dinner and beverages.

Extras:  Tables will have disposable cameras for candid photographs.  The Prom Committee will select photos to process, and candids for use in the photo collage in the lobby after the prom as well as the NCCS Yearbook.

Freshmen and Sophomores
The Prom Committee needs volunteers to assist with putting up decorations on the day of the prom, and being ushers at the prom.  Ushers need to be at Peck's by 5:30PM on Prom night; you will be finished with your duties by 7:30PM (and need to arrange for a ride home at that time).  You will earn points toward next year's Prom Court.  See Ms. Bouvier, or send an e-mail to promadvisor@nccsprom08.com to sign up.
