NCCS Prom 2009
The prom will be held on May 9, 2009 in the Gold Room at Peck's Rainbow and Banquet Hall in Altona, NY. The evening will begin at 5:30 PM with a procession of prom attendees and the announcement and crowning of the court. A full-course dinner will be served at 7:00 PM, followed by an evening of dancing. Dance Lessons: Ballroom dancing lessons can be made available to all interested promgoers. You could learn the foxtrot, waltz, swing, and, depending on interest, some of the Latin dances (tango, rhumba, salsa). The dance steps will be set to your music! See Ms. Bouvier or Mrs. Morrelli if you are interested. | Prom Committee News The first meeting will be held during the second week of school in September. Listen for announcements. Decorations: The already gorgeous Gold room will become positively magical by adding trees festooned with lights, walls of lights, floating candles, balloons, flowers, and jewel-colored chair cover bows. We will take extra care to make the entranceway, and picture area next to the waterfall, look especially elegant. And ladies, the "powder room" will also be made more welcoming with lotion, flowers, and candies. Like last year, we will have two chocolate fountains: one with milk chocolate, the other with dark chocolate. They come with two attendants, and strawberries, cherries, pineapple, marshmallows, pretzels, cream puff, pretzels, and Oreos for dipping. We will be voting on all of this at the next Prom meeting. Dinner: A choice of prime rib or baked stuffed chicken, potato, vegetable, salad, brownie sundae dessert. Beverages: Milk or soda with meal; specialty drinks will also be offered for sale at the bar. Invitations: Will be given to each Junior. The design of the invitation will reflect the Prom theme. Tickets: Will be priced to cover the cost of dinner and beverages. Extras: All promgoers will receive a gift bag with a photo album, commemorative glass, and candy. Each Junior will also receive a ticket for a free specialty drink, and be eligible to win a $100 (cash) door prize. Calvacade: Prizes will be awarded in the categories of Best Hairdo, Swankiest Shoes, Cutest Couple, Most Transformed, Best Dancer, and Most Congenial. | Contact Information
